Character History and Personality:
If anyone asks Caellum about where he is from, he shrugs. He is not from a wealthy family. His father left when he was four, and his presence became less and less after his remarriage to a girl from Arkansas, or maybe it was Missouri. Caellum was born in California to John and Marley Matthews, and while his father was working, the family had done rather well. It was short lived. When his father lost his job, and the finances took a hit, so did his parent's relationship. Marley took her son and his sister back to her hometown in Wisconsin for a few years. They migrated with one of her boyfriends to Chicago, and ended up in Oklahoma with another step-father with no job.

Caellum went to school, took care of his sister Brennen from Dad #2, and worked at whatever job would pay him the most money. In spite of the family finances, Caellum had a decent social life. He was quick with a smile and a joke, could charm a rock into dancing, and loved music. In Oklahoma, he worked for a local music store. They specialized in local bands, giving them a platform to display their work. He became enamored with the guitar, playing the ones on display for hours, telling his boss that he could give customers a better show if he could actually get a few chords down. To his delight, a year later, a customer traded a guitar in for a new model, and Cael received it as his Christmas bonus. The Fender Blacktop Stratocaster is the best present he has ever received.

Leaving Oklahoma at 16 with his mother, he ended up in Portland, Oregon. Michael, Dad #2, had received a promotion, and they were moving again. Cael sat in the back seat, picking at the strings, trying to ignore his step father's comments on actually learning to play. On arrival, his mother signed him up for music lessons three days a week, as long as he kept up his grades in school.

At John Marshall High School, he met his bandmates. Domino Effect was born. Caellum wanted nothing more that to see the band succeed. He quit working, much to his family's chagrin. He spent hours in the garage with his bandmates, often left with bleeding fingers. Pure tenacity and love of music kept them going night after night, and kept Caellum at school during the day. They recorded their own demo in the same garage and hand carried it to anyone who would listen. Several clubs were interested but the boys were underage. Caellum was hurt that they would have to wait for a break, but they were close to graduation at that time.

After graduation, several band mates left for college. Cael had barely passed, making college options few and far between. He could have done better, but he wasn't sure that life was for him. It was the first time that he actually had to face choices that were more difficult to make, and for a few months, he was a bit lost. He wanted to play, to have his band back, and there didn't seem to be a future left. Lurking around small club shows, he did make a few friends from Train Wreck, a local band seeking a guitarist. They weren't great, but managed a few bookings on the Portland scene. After a year and another round of self-promotions, the band was offered a gig at a club in Las Vegas.

In spite of all the erratic moves, his mother's life choices, and his own responsibilities, Caellum has a humorous approach to life. He's learned to adapt quickly, instead of sinking into depression over losing another group of friends. He does tend to remain somewhat aloof in his approach to people, with the exception of his band. He is also never quite settled, not really collecting possessions except clothes, guitar, and car. He actually enjoys the ability to come and go as he pleases, move on a whim, and start new things.

Cael has always loved the nightlife. In every city it was the same. He loved to be out there, in the thick of the experience, meeting people. While he did hold a job, most were in the afternoon as it accommodated his philosophy of sleeping till noon or later. School had been a comedy of errors trying to get him up for his first period class. On several occasions, he showed up still drunk, or high, looking like he just rolled out of bed, and managed to convince his teachers that he has been truly working way too hard to support his mother. While he was also disciplined on several occasions, he always avoided expulsion, to the point that it was a game for him. Once school ended, this became a pattern - sleeping late, working, playing his guitar, and partying all night. Las Vegas is the perfect place, one he calls home.

Ever adventurous, Cael will try anything. He loves dares. His mother had cautioned that those dares would kill him one day, not that he paid attention. His range extends from recreational drug use to skydiving, bungee jumping, or walking naked down the strip. He does draw the line at violence towards others, aside from the occasional club fight, but there are few exceptions otherwise.

When asked about a perfect evening for a short article on the band, he offered the following. "All I really want to do it grab a bottle, take it out to the desert with my friends, and play music all night. That's a perfect night, just playing under the stars."

Cael does have a job in Las Vegas busing tables at a restaurant. It isn't much, but it pays the bills that low paying gigs don't. One night, he was cleaning up a huge mess, swearing when he dropped a plate. He heard a voice in his head, or rather a laugh. He was quick to blame the marijuana that he smoked while on break, but he knew that wasn't quite it. He was further disturbed when the voice seemed to pop up on a date, causing him to actually cut it short and return home. He received his journal the next day. His reaction, "Fuck yeah!"

Alter:
James Arthur Madrox was born in New Mexico to Dr. Daniel and Joan Madrox. Living near Los Alamos, suspected radiation had left Jamie with an unusual ability. In the delivery room, Jamie was spanked lightly, encouraged to cry, when a second baby appeared, an exact duplicate of the first, followed by another. Dr. Charles Xavier encouraged the family to move to Kansas, and raise Jamie in privacy. They did just that, homeschooling him, giving him work around the farm. His father even created a suit that would absorb the kinetic energy that was the source of Jamie's ability.

At fifteen, Jamie's parents were killed in a freak tornado accident. The accident may have been caused by researcher Damian Tryp, who discovered Jamie to be a changeling, a predecessor to a mutant. After the accident, Jamie continued at the farm until he was 16. His suit had been damaged and he was using his duplicates to help him with the chores. He decided to move on, ending up in New York City.

After a few run-ins with the law due to his 'dupes' actions, he was reacquainted with Dr. Xavier who moved him to Muir Island to help in a research lab. The island was later destroyed by the Shadow King, but Madrox was asked to join the X-Factor. During his time with the team, Jamie was a prankster, finally finding a home with people who had unusual abilities. Jamie was really excited about the opportunity, although some of the adventures that followed left him drained, and near death.

Jamie, as Prime, has a pretty unusual ability, even considering most mutants or changelings. He can produce independently thinking and feeling duplicates of himself. Upon completion of the task, they are reabsorbed by Prime, who also gains the knowledge, and emotion that the dupe has acquired. His 'dupes' usually behave themselves, taking bits of Prime's personality with them. However, the longer they are in the world, the more they wish to break free, unwilling to be absorbed back into Prime. He did send several of these duplicates into the world, allowing them to lead lives and gain knowledge. This is the case with John Maddox, a Prime dupe who has carved out a life for himself, including children. He is the one that Jamie allowed to stay on the outside. Absorption does cause him some issues, as he often ends up as a multiple personality before pulling himself back together.

After the fall of the X Corporation, Jamie began X-Factor investigations. In the course of events, he discovered that Siryn, a woman he had met back on Muir Island was pregnant. She later had a son, Sean. Jamie's happiest and saddest moment occurs the first time he holds his son. As he ruffles the boy's hair, he is absorbed by Prime. Realizing that the boy was fathered by a dupe, which made him an infant dupe, Jamie is devastated. He considers suicide, but is prevented by a hologram of Layla Miller, taking Jamie into the future.

Following the death of his son, Sean, Jamie has continues to serve with the X-Men, tasked out on several missions by Cyclops. He does believe that there are still renegade duplicates out there, but unless they interfere, he does not feel that hunting them would be as productive.

Journal/Key: Jamie's journal is blue with a gold shield. On the face is a large key pointing upward. A ring dangles from it with several smaller keys, signifying Prime and his dupes. His actual key is the same as the one found on the face of his journal. It is fancy and yet of common design.

Storylines;

Open: Siryn - Jamie's one time lover and mother of his child. There are a lot of feelings here that could certainly come into play.
Open: John Maddox - an Episcopal priest with a wife and family. He does come into the books now and then as the only duplicate Jamie will not reabsorb.
Open: Renegade Dupes - What great fun that would be!!!!!!!

Considering she also has way too much energy for me, even, it'll be a good fit!

She's only smoked pot before, so not an addict, but she can help keep him clean if need be. Liz can help Cael in and out of trouble, methinks ;)

Definitely. He is bouncy one, but it's cute at the same time.

He's done most things that he can snort or smoke. Cocaine is his drug of choice, like he needs more energy, but he has been good, trying to be more serious, keep the party life to a minimum, etc. He can definitely get into more trouble.

We can log them if you want. I can do GDocs or on the comm, whichever works!

They both are, hehe!

She's only ever smoked pot, never been interested in the rest. But they can mellow out one night (or however it's said, right? ;) )

Sure! I'm up for either.
